The incident took place at around 10 PM on Tuesday, a Government Railway Police (GRP) officer said. The accused took the woman under a culvert, tied her up and took turns to rape her before fleeing. The accused, as per the reports, even took a tea and gutkha break before returning to repeatedly rape her.
“They have been booked under sections 376 D (gangrape) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention),” the officer said.
On Thursday evening, the complaint states, the teenager was returning from her coaching classes to catch a train to Vidisha. Around 7 PM, one of the accused Golu Bihari Chadhar grabbed her. When she resisted, Golu called two of his accomplices, Amar and Ghuntu, and gangraped her.
Nearly 15-minutes later, Golu went to fetch cigarettes, tea, and gutkha, leaving Amar to keep a watch over her. Amar and Golu are brothers-in-law married to two sisters. Golu is out on bail after being charged with her infant daughter’s murder, a report said.
Later on, two more men, Ramesh and Rajesh, joined Amar and Ghuntu and took turns to rape her. The four men continued to rape her till 10 PM.
What followed was no less horrifying. At MP Nagar, an SI went to check the spot and asked her to Habibganj police station. Officer in the Habibganj police station redirected them to Habibganj GRP. An officer, in a third police station, mocked her, saying she was “making up a filmy story”.
The accused were arrested when the woman saw Amar and Golu loitering in front of Mansarowar Complex. The cop couple chased them down and handed them over to the police. “We handed over the duo to GRP Habibganj,” said the mother.
