Bhopal, Nov 5: The Bhopal gangrape victim while demanding strict action against the culprits said they have no right to live. “They should be hanged on the streets,” she said. The 19-year-old student also accused the police of turning a blind eye towards her and not cooperating when she went to register a complaint.

The victim, who was gangraped near Habibganj Railway Station on Tuesday, said,”Police’s behaviour was bad. We were going from one police station to another but none cooperated.” She added that a Habibganj inspector paid heed to her plea.

Earlier on Friday, five policemen were suspended for their alleged negligence in the case. The decision was taken following a meeting of senior bureaucrats and police officials called by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Those suspended include SHOs of three police stations and two sub-inspectors. The Madhya Pradesh government has also formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the case.

On Wednesday, the girl along with her parents went to MP Nagar police station to register a complaint after which the SI of the police station went to check the spot and directed the girl to Habibganj police station. The girl was asked to go to Habibganj Government Railway Police by an officer of Habibganj police station. Reportedly, the police officials were not able to decide under the jurisdiction of which police station the crime had happened. Notably, she was mocked at Habibganj Government Railway Police station by a police officer who reportedly said that she is “making up a filmy story”.

The teenager was allegedly gangraped for three hours by four men when she was returning from her UPSC coaching classes. The incident took place at around 7 PM in the vicinity of the Habibganj railway station when two men abducted her on Tuesday.
