Patna, Mar 14: Tejashwi Yadav, the son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, on Wednesday called Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ of moral corruption. “Nitish ji salah dete the ki janta ki adalat mein jayein, janta ne apna faisla suna diya hai. Ab baari Nitish ji ki hai spashtikaran dene ki, woh naitik bhrashtachar ke Bhishmapitmah hain (Nitish ji used to advice us to go to Janata adaalat. The mandate is clear. Now, its his turn. He is the Bhishmapitamah of moral corruption),” he said. (ALSO READ – UP Bypoll Results 2018: Akhilesh Yadav Meets Mayawati After SP Stuns BJP in Gorakhpur, Phulpur)
Yadav’s scathing attack came hours after RJD won Araria Lok Sabha and Jehanabad Assembly bye-elections 2018. The polling on the seats was held on Sunday. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has retained Bhabhua Assembly seat.
Adding further, Yadav said that this is not a normal win for the RJD. “Yeh mamuli jeet nahi hai, iss jeet ne desh ko disha dene ka kaam kiya hai (This victory will give direction to the nation),” he said.
In Araria bye-election, the electoral contest was between RJD candidate Sarfaraz Alam and BJP nominee Pradeep Kumar Singh. The parliamentary seat fell vacant after the death of Alam’s father and RJD MP Mohammed Taslimuddin.
In Jehanabad bypoll, the RJD had fielded Uday Yadav, who is in a direct battle with JD(U)’s Abhiram Sharma. The Assembly seat fell vacant after the death of RJD Legislator Mundrika Yadav.
The bypoll in Bhabhua has been necessitated following the death of the BJP legislator Anand Bhushan Pandey. To retain the Assembly seat, the BJP fielded his widow Rinki Rani Pandey. The RJD offered Bhabhua seat to the Congress at the last moment which nominated Shambhu Patel for the bypoll.
