New Delhi, July 16: Even though the official stand on the continuation of the coalition is not clear, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is expected to take a final call on Tejashwi Yadav as the Deputy Chief Minister after the Presidential Polls are conducted on Monday. After extending support for National Democratic Alliance Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind, Kumar does not want any cross vote by its legislators on Monday. To chalk out the strategy for the Presidential elections, JDU will convene a meeting at the official residence, 1, Anne Marg in Patna on Sunday.
Meanwhile, other senior leaders were putting their efforts in cooling the relations between the alliance partners. Nitish Kumar, as per the India Today report, also had a discussion about the current situation where Kumar told Sonia Gandhi that decision on Tejashwi Yadav will be taken after Monday. Congress remains a crucial partner in running the Bihar Government.
The standoff escalated further when Rashtriya Janta Dal denied any chances of resignation by Tejashwi Yadav. On the contrary, CM Kumar has likely cleared its stance to the alliance partner RJD about the ouster of the Tejashwi Yadav. Yadav was named in the charge sheet of the Central Bureau of Investigation in flouting rules for getting the maintenance contracts of IRCTC hotels in Ranchi.
Earlier, the Income-Tax (IT) department seized benami properties of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti, son-in-law Shailesh Kumar and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. Yadav family is in dire straits after a multi agency investigation is taking place for the benami properties.
