Boxer Manoj Kumar hits out at Narendra Modi government after Uri attack in his viral Facebook post
Boxer Manoj Kumar, in his hard-hitting Facebook post, appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strict action against terrorist attacks and and answer bullets with grenades.
New Delhi, Sep 19: Indian boxer Manoj Kumar on Sunday took to Facebook to condemn the brutal attack that took place at the rear base of an infantry regiment in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri area. In his post, Manoj expressed sadness over the loss the nation has suffered by losing its 17 bravehearts. In his hard-hitting post, the Indian boxer appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strict action against such terrorist attacks and answer bullets with grenades.
The 29-year old boxer lauded the Indian Army in his Facebook post and said they are the actual heroes of our nation who guard our borders and face challenges every single day. He said that all the political parties speak about taking strict actions against such terrorist attacks but nothing gets implemented. A lot have been spoken about what India needs to do to stop terrorism, but leaders and parties forget about the promises made until the nation is attacked again by terror outfits.
Manoj Kumar is an Indian boxer, who hails from the village of Rajound in the Kaithal district of Haryana. The29-year-old boxer has won a gold medal in the light welterweight division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. His father Sher Singh is a retired Army officer, while his mother is a housewife.
Talking about Prime Minister Modi, Manoj said that on one hand we have a dynamic and determined Prime Minister working for 16 long hours for the betterment of the country while on the other hand, the separatists are promoting terrorism and disrupting normal life in Jammu and Kashmir. He said in his post that what surprises him the most was the amount of money India spends on these separatists and the way the nation respects them. He asked the government as to why they put in so much money (Rs.600 cr) to provide lavish facilities like accommodation in Delhi’s five star hotels and other amenities to these separatists who promote terrorist activities in the land that gives them so much.(ALSO READ: Uri terror attack: ‘Kashmir to hoga lekin Pakistan nahin hoga’, warns BSF Jawan (Watch Video))
He hit out at the government and said, if the government is so much willing to help anyone, help the ones who need it and not these separatists who instigate hatred and terrorism. He said instead of spending a huge sum of money on them by providing those lavish facilities, the government should spend money on soldiers who sacrifice their entire life for the nation and to people from the sports arena who make the nation proud by their magnificent win.
He gave an example of the attack on United States of America and said that that was the deadliest of the attacks America had seen. He further compared the situation with India and said then no country has even thought of waging a war in US. He asked why the same couldn’t is applied in case of attacks in India and why should the soldiers at the border face the brunt of such activities. He said it is high time that the government shook take a stand and not encourage any kind of attack whatsoever. Manoj, in his Facebook post appealed to Modi to take action and stop these attacks as the nation had already suffered a lot. He said there should be a concrete plan to teach Pakistani’s a lesson so that no more innocent lives fall a prey to such attacks.(ALSO READ: Uri terror attack: Here’s what you should know about the worst cross-border assault on Indian Army in 27 years)

The terrorists attacked the 12th brigade headquarters that is located close to the Line of Control (LoC), about 63 miles (102 kilometers) from Srinagar. The Uri terror attack was reported to be one of the most deadly attacks in recent times where huge casualties were reported in one attack.
In the terror strike that started around 5.30 AM on Sunday morning, 18 soldiers lost their lives. The attack drew strong condemnation from across the nation and the world. Pakistan denies any role and accused India of apportioning blame before it had properly investigated. “India is desperately looking for ways to deflect the world’s attention from the situation in India-occupied Kashmir,” Pakistan Spokesman Nafees Zakaria told CNN. “Pakistan investigates and does not give knee jerk reactions whenever any such incident takes place. We reject these claims.”
