New Delhi, Nov 10: The Class 11 boy, held for allegedly murdering Ryan student Pradyuman Thakur, had been under the scanner of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) since September. The boy was in the CBI radar ever since it took over the case from Gurugram police on September 22. After thoroughly going through the CCTV footage, the agency searched the boy’s house on September 28 and seized documents and articles that it thought were important for the case.

CBI informed the court the next day that it wanted to keep the seized documents for investigation. The agency has not revealed the nature of the items recovered from his house. The items are being examined forensically. (Also read: Murder Weapon Belongs to 16-year-old Student, Gurgaon Police Planted it on Bus Conductor: CBI)

Meanwhile, CBI is trying to ascertain whether another Ryan International student helped the Class 11 boy in murdering Pradyuman Thakur on September 8.

The agency is trying to investigate the case from a different angle as they are probing whether another student helped the accused boy in allegedly murdering Pradyuman or in destroying evidence, reported the TOI. CBI sources said that the agency has not yet questioned any student who was seen with the detained 16-year-old boy accused of murdering Pradyuman. The agency is also trying to find discrepancies in the boy’s statement to the magistrate. (Also read: Pradyuman Murder Case: Apprehended Class XI Student Wanted Exam Postponed, Says CBI)

Pradyuman Thakur was found murdered outside his school’s toilet, 15 minutes after being dropped to the school by his father, Varun Thakur. Gurugram police had arrested a bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, saying that he had murdered the boy as he resisted sexual assault. Pradyuman’s parents, however, were not satisfied with this theory as they demanded a CBI probe into the matter.

Nearly a month-and-a-half later, CBI detained a 16-year-old Ryan student for allegedly murdering Pradyuman. The agency claimed that the boy murdered Pradyuman to defer examination.
