New Delhi, Mar 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar regarding CBSE paper leaks and has expressed his displeasure. He has asked the Minister to take strict action against the miscreants who leaked board question papers.
The information came out on a day when the CBSE announced re-examination for Class X Mathematics Paper and Class XII Economics Paper. The decision has been taken after question papers for these subjects were reportedly leaked prior to the examination. The Board has not announced the dates for both the exams and other details in the next few days.
“The board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board Examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to re-conduct the examinations in the following subjects. Dates for fresh examinations and the other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week,” CBSE said in its statement today.
The CBSE Class XII Economics question paper was reportedly leaked on WhatsApp, a day before the exam; whereas, a teacher received the Economics paper on WhatsApp– he alerted the Board later.
Meanwhile, the HRD Minister assured strict action in the case.
“Some parts of the paper were leaked on WhatsApp and we’ve made Police complaint regarding it. Investigation is underway & strict action will be taken. We have also decided to tighten security for the time when papers are being distributed,” he said in a press-conference.
“The examinations are conducted across the country but this has been reported only from a few schools in Delhi. Cabinet has approved for National Testing Agency to come into effect from next year to ensure leak-proof examination,” he added.
