Lucknow, Mar 21: Reacting on the posters placed by Congress workers against poll strategist Prashant Kishor, senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala on Tuesday tweeted in support of the poll strategist. Randeep Surjewala on Tuesday tweeted “Congress Party values the hard work & contribution of PK (Prashant Kishor) & team & rejects the propaganda by vested interests.” In another tweet, Surjewala added, “Congress is determined to meet all future challenges with the entire pool of talent available.”
Posters against Prashant Kishor were put up in Lucknow office and the poster announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for the person who would bring the poll strategist before the Congress party workers. Congress state president Raj Babbar asked the party workers to remove the posters immediately. The poster is reported to be put up by Rajesh Singh, the Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee. Singh denied the allegations but he was suspended from the party.
After the poor performance of Congress in Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Kishor faced criticism for his strategy. It is been reported that it was Prashant Kishor’s decision of a pre-poll alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party. Kishor is said to be handpicked by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi himself.
Prashant Kishor came into limelight after successfully campaigning for Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 2014 general elections. Kishor later had a spat with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah after which he switched over Janata Dal United (JDU) and helped the grand alliance led by Nitish Kumar to emerge victorious in the Bihar Assembly elections. Later Kishor was approached by Congress and he is reported to work for Congress till 2019 general elections.
