New Delhi, Nov 14: The Congress on Tuesday hit back Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath for calling the word ‘secular’ the biggest lie. Former minister and senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal took to Twitter and said the ‘truth’ that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is like ‘Ram Rajya’ is the biggest lie. “Yogi Adityanath says ‘secularism is a lie’ and compares Modi’s government to “Ram Rajya“. This “Truth” is perhaps the biggest lie,” the Congress leader tweeted this morning.
Secular is the biggest lie since Independence and those who have coined this word must apologise to the people and this country, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said on Monday, in an apparent reference to the Congress. He was responding to a question on communalism and secularism at a function organised by the Dainik Jagran group in Raipur.
“Mera maanna hai ki azadi ke baad Bharat mein sabse bada jhooth dharmnirpeksh shabd hai. Nagrikon ke saath, Bharat ke logon ke saath… un logon ko maafi maangni chahiye, jinhone is shabd ko janm diya aur jo yeh shabd istemaal karte hai… koi vyavastha dharmnirpeksh nahin ho sakti (I believe that the word secular is the biggest lie since Independence. Those who have coined this word must apologise to this country. No system can be secular),” Adityanath said.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also compared PM Narendra Modi’s government to “Ram Rajya” and said that while the Prime Minister understands the pain of the people, the Congress does not.
