New Delhi, Apr 4: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday met his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu at Andhra Bhawan in New Delhi. Chandrababu Naidu, who arrived in Delhi for a two-day visit to the national capital, on Tuesday (April 3) met leaders from several other parties at Parliament’s central hall to secure support for the no-confidence motion against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

The leaders Chandrababu Naidu met at Parliament are: Sharad Pawar (NCP), Farooq Abdullah (J-K NC), Saugata Roy (TMC), Supriya Sule (NCP), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Congress), Jitender Reddy (TRS), M Veerappa Moily (Congress), Rajiv Satav (Congress), Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal), Harsimrat Kaur Badal (Shiromani Akali Dal), Farooq Abdullah of the National Congress, and Tariq Anwar of NCP. (Also Read: Chandrababu Naidu Writes Letter to Amit Shah on Leaving NDA: BJP Not Sensitive to Aspirations of People of Andhra Pradesh)

The Andhra CM also garnered support for towards securing a Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. After the meeting with Naidu, TDP lawmaker TG Venkatesh took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party saying that the chief minister is “meeting key leaders in parliament to send across a message to the country that not only making commitments, but honouring it also is very important.”

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs continued to protest outside the Parliament house, demanding Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. Naidu, last month, asked his party’s MPs to continue ‘fight against injustice’ in Parliament.

“All the TDP MPs must be present in the Parliament. See that MPs of other parties also attend the House and that other parties also give notices of No Confidence Motion,” the Chief Minister told TDP lawmakers. He also said the support TDP is getting indicate “the sympathy from all corners of the country for the state, for the injustice, it is facing”. (Also Read: Chandrababu Naidu Asks TDP MPs to Continue ‘Fight Against Injustice’)

“The MPs should continue with the same spirit. You have the support of 5 crores people of the state,” he added.
