Delhi girl writes to Narendra Modi seeking financial help for marriage
Dowry has been one of the major issue most of her marriage broke, after which she thought of writing to Narendra Modi
Delhi, Nov 28: A girl from Delhi has written a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting his help for her marriage. The girl who whose family is under financial constraint worries that her marriage which is scheduled for December 2 will have to be called off. The 31-year-old wrote to Modi about her worries and requested for his help.
As per reports, Modi has taken the issue and is investigating the matter. He has directed his junior officials to probe into the girl’s letter and find out the facts. As per the address in letter, the girl resides in Sector 49, Noida, Delhi. (Also Read: Narendra Modi greets people on first Constitution Day)
Here family members include her parents, two sisters and two brothers whose expenses are single-handled taken care by her father. While her father is an employee in a private company, her mother is a house wife. The letter said that they live on a meager income, so any extra expense in the family becomes a pressure on the family. Most of the family income is spent on her younger brother who is currently ill. Hence the wedding comes as an extra expense which they would not be able to take on their shoulders.
She also mentioned that dowry has been one of the major problems which broke many of her marriage proposals. As her family could not afford lavish wedding families, many suitable grooms disagreed from marrying her. She worries that her wedding which is scheduled for Tuesday will have to be called off once again.
