New Delhi, April 6: A man abducted and killed a 7-year-old boy for resisting sexual assault in Delhi’s Harkesh Nagar. The 21-year-old man later dumped the boy’s body in a drain, the police said. The boy was missing since Tuesday morning and was last seen with the accused, identified as Sandeep Singh.
The complaint was filed on April 2 at Okhla Phase III police outpost. An investigation was launched and the accused was found hiding at his brother-in-law’s residence. “During interrogation, Sandeep confessed to kidnapping and murdering the boy when he resisted his attempt to sexually assault him,” the officer said.
The accused Sandeep Singh took the police to the spot where he had dumped the boy’s body. The body was found in Ganda Nala in Okhla Phase III.
The accused has been charged with murder and relevant sections of POCSO.
In another case, reported from Bhiwandi in Thane, a four-year-old girl’s body was found with her hands chopped off. The girl had been missing since Tuesday morning. The police are trying to investigate if this was a case of child sacrifice.
