New Delhi, Apr 13: A man stabbed a 30-year-old woman, who is battling for her life at the hospital, several times in Delhi for asking him to return Rs 5 lakh that she had given him as investment. The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday evening when the accused, Anwar, called the victim to resolve the monetary dispute. He has been arrested.
The victim has been identified as Neetu Sharma, a resident of Greater Noida. She had met Anwar during at a cousin’s wedding. He claimed to be a share broker and offered to double up her money in a few years but, till now she didn’t receive any returns.
On Wednesday, Anwar called her to meet near the Salcon Aurum building in Sarita Vihar. As the argument between the two heated up, the accused suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman several times. Later, on spotting a policeman, he fled from the crime scene.
According to the doctors at Apollo Hospital, Neetu has suffered injuries to her internal organs due to the attack and has been kept under observation. The police will record her statement once she gains her consciousness back.
Meanwhile, the police nabbed Anwar from his house in Jasola and registered a case against him under sections of attempt to murder (307 IPC).
