Delhi school van runs over 3-year-old after dropping him home
Abhiral came under the vehicle when the van was reversing after he got off it.
New Delhi, Aug 23: A three-year-old boy was run over by the school van that dropped him at his home in Delhi’s Civil Lines on Tuesday. The shocking incident occurred when Abhiral came under the vehicle when the van was reversing after he got off it. The child goes to a play school around 2 km from his home and was returning when the mishap happened. The incident occurred around 2: 30 pm.
Although the child was taken to hospital, he died. The driver, 28-year-old, Rahul Kumar has been arrested. “The driver was in a hurry. My son got down but the driver was in so much hurry that he ran over him. The driver is responsible for the accident,” ANI quoted victim’s father. “It is driver’s carelessness. Many times, I had told to drive slowly but he used to drive fast,” he added. The driver has been investigated by the police. More details are awaited in the incident. In a similar incident, a five-year-old boy died after being run over by a van on Thursday evening in Mysuru Road. A four-year-old girl also died after a school van ran over her on the school premises in Thanjavur district on Friday. Parents of the child had sought the arrest of school correspondent and attender of the bus who is also responsible for the accident.
