New Delhi, Dec 8: Seven accused have been arrested for the heinous murder of four women and a security guard at Mansarovar Park in Shahdara area of Delhi. The police said that robbery was the actual motive behind the murders.

Out of the seven accused, five were arrested on Tuesday, while the other two were finally nabbed on ThursdayWhile speaking to The Hindu, Joint CP Alok Kumar said, “They were thoroughly interrogated and prima facie, the motive has been found to be robbery”.

 The police have alleged that security guard Rakesh, who was also found murdered, was involved in the plan. The guard’s son Anuj and son-in-law Vikas have been arrested for carrying out the crime. They also hired more five people – Neeraj, Deepak, Sunny, Vicky and Nitin – as their accomplice.

While five of them were arrested, Nitin and Deepak were on a run but were finally nabbed. The culprits said during interrogation that it was Rakesh who mentioned to them about the cash and jewellery the family possessed, reported The Times of India. “Having worked as a security guard there for 15 years, he claimed to be fully aware of how rich the family was. The plan was hatched in August and, since then, Rakesh’s son, Anuj, and son-in-law Vikas were looking for people who could help them in the crime,” TOI quoted RP Upadhyay, Delhi Police Special Commissioner as saying.

Two months ago, in October, 82-year-old Urmila Jindal was found murdered along with her three daughters: Anjali, Sangeeta and Nupur.  The body security guard was also found with his throat slit.
