Mumbai, September 16: A major fire broke out in Mumbai’s RK Studio at the sets of the TV show ‘Super Dancer’ on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. The cause of the fire has to be ascertained and to take control over the situation six fire tenders and five water tankers were deployed. As per reports, fire is confined to electric wiring, electric installation, decoration equipment.
No report of any casualty has come forward as the crew wasn’t on the set due to today being a Saturday. The chief of Mumbai fire brigade, P S Rahangdale was quoted by NDTV saying they had received a call at around 2.22 pm and it just took firefighters five minutes to reach the spot.
PG Duhal, Division Fire Officer speaking to ANI said the fire massive fire that gutted half of the portion of RK Studio was controlled in two hours.
Actor Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to appreciate the concern showed by people. He penned,” Sad A major fire broke out at RK Studios. We have lost the iconic Stage 1. Thankfully no casualties nor injuries. All your concerns appreciated.”
It is named after the iconic Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor the grandfather of actor Ranbir Kapoor. It was established in 1948 and since then many films were produced under its banner. Currently, actor Rishi Kapoor is the owner of the film studio located in Chembur area of the financial capital.
