Ahmedabad, Dec 8: Polling to Gadhada (constituency number 106) and Botad (constituency number 107) Vidhan Sabha constituencies, that fall in the Botad district has been scheduled on December 9 in the first phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017. The polling to elections in Gadhada and Botad would begin at 7 AM and continue until 5 PM on December 9. The votes of polling to assembly constituencies of Gadhada and Botad would be counted on December 18 and the results would be declared on the same day.

Both the assembly constituencies – Gadhada and Botad – are currently represented by MLA’s from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The main parties contesting in the Gujarat polls are BJP and the grand-old Congress party. Gadhada Assembly Constituency

The Gadhada assembly constituency is going to polls on December 9 in the first phase of Gujarat polls. The current MLA of Gadhada constituency is Atmaram Makanbhai Parmar from the BJP who had won contesting against Maru Pravinbhai Tidabhai from Congress party in the 2012 Gujarat Assembly Elections. In the 2017 Gujarat polls, BJP has again fielded Atmarambhai Parmar while Congress has fielded Praveen Maru.

Botad Assembly Constituency

The current MLA of Botad assembly constituency is Maniya Thakarshibhai Devjibhai from the BJP. Thakarshibhai won a total of 86,184 votes while Congress’ Kunvarjibhai Mohanbhai Bavaliya, giving a close competition, managed 76,179. This year, BJP has fielded Saurabhbhai Patel, Congress has fielded Manhar Patel, and AAP, which is contesting Gujarat Assembly Elections for the first time, has fielded Jilubhai Bavaliya.
