Gender Equality un- Islamic says Kerala Muslim leader
This is not the first time that he has made such landslide observations, as he previously got hauled up for his remarks of women during the civic polls.
Mumbai, Nov 29 : In what could serve as even more controversial given the stream of volatile topics of recent, a Kerala leader of the Sunni dialect was quoted calling the concept of gender equality a thought absent in Islam and furthermore claimed that women are only fit to deliver babies and can never be equal to men. Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musalayar, chief of All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama also further claimed that women do not have the mental strength as compared to guys when it comes to managing things and the power to control the universe.
At a time when the overall consensus on gender parity as a concept has been reemphasized, Musalayar spoke contrary to those beliefs adding that gender equality is considered un Islamic and against humanity alongside being intellectually wrong. He also said that women cannot withstand crisis situations and even claimed that he has never found a single woman cardiac surgeon.
This is not the first time that he has made such landslide observations, as he previously got hauled up for his remarks of women during the civic polls in Kerala where he had suggested the 50 % reservation of women in elections as being too high a number. The Islamic scholar also spoken in the context of debates regarding sharing of seats for boy and girls in educational institutions like colleges as a calculative approach to destroying the very ethos of Islamic culture and came down heavily terming such people as detractors.
Rubbishing claims of people implying sexual exploitation at madrasas and asked such individuals to justify their claims by proving it and not jjust make baseless allegations. Recent comments from a woman journalist mentioned in a write up regarding the exploitation of young girls and boys in madrasas.
