Gorakhpur, August 12: Opposition has blasted out at Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh after 63 people that also included over 30 children died at the Baba Raghav Das (BRD) hospital in Gorakhpur due to alleged oxygen shortage as the hospital failed to pay a bill of over Rs 65 lakh. The incident took place two days after UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath visited the hospital to review the functioning. Notably, the government till now is stern on its stand that the reason behind the deaths is lack of oxygen with the hospital.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad blamed the carelessness of BJP government in UP saying,” Saddened by heart-wrenching incident. This happened due to state govt’s carelessness.” He also asked Health Minister, Minister of Technical and Medical Education and UP CM to take responsibility in the incident and resign.

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi was deeply pained by the incident. “My thoughts are with the families of the victims. BJP govt is responsible and should punish the negligent, who caused this tragedy,” tweeted office of Rahul Gandhi on Friday.

Samajwadi Party:

Former CM of UP- Akhilesh Yadav said that government is not revealing the truth and hence, a delegation from SP will go to BRD Medical College to see the situation and inform government and party. Akhilesh clearly stated that state government is not doing its duty, just busy in hounding SP workers. “Government trying to run away from responsibilities that’s why it is saying that opposition is politicising the situation,” added 44-year-old Yadav.
