Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s Daughter Honeypreet Insan Spotted in Nepal’s Mahendranagar, Says Report

She had been booked for allegedly inciting violence following the conviction of Ram Rahim on August 25, the Haryana Police said.

Chandigarh, September 20: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan was spotted in Nepal’s Mahendranagar, just 5 kms from the International Border with India, media report quoted Haryana Police sources. She was spotted in a car with Nepal number plate on Sunday with three others.

Nepal police officials in Pokhara have deployed 10 teams to trace Honeypreet and her pictures have been circulated. “Till date we are operating all the checking points and searching for her with picture and other relevant documents. So search operation is going on,” Pokhara District Magistrate Tara Nath told India Today. Also read: How Priyanka Taneja Became Honeypreet Insan

Superintendent of Police, Pokhara, Ashok Singh said, “We are asking the hotel owners and bringing all the guest list. We are trying to find her location.”

The Haryana Police along with the teams of RAW and the Intelligence Bureau have been looking for Honeypreet in India and Nepal.

She had been booked for allegedly inciting violence following the conviction of Ram Rahim on August 25, the Haryana Police said. She had been booked at Sector 5 police station in Panchkula. The police had added her name in FIR number 345 as an accused in connection with the violence that took place in Panchkula.

Her name has been included in the same FIR in which other Dera functionaries Aditya Insan and Surinder Dhiman, among others, had been booked for allegedly inciting violence and arson, police said. Also read: Dera Violence: Honeypreet Insan Tops List of 43 Wanted People

The police had earlier questioned arrested Dera functionaries including Dilawar Insan and Pradeep Goyal to get concrete information about her place of hiding.

Dilawar Insan, a key member of the Dera was arrested from Sonipat while Pradeep, another Dera functionary, was nabbed from Udaipur in Rajasthan by Haryana Police.

The special investigation team of Haryana Police had also questioned Dera’s spokesperson Vipassana Insan in Sirsa about Honeypreet’s whereabouts.

Honeypreet had accompanied Ram Rahim when he was taken to Sunaria jail in Rohtak through chopper following his conviction in the rape case on August 25. After that she went into hiding.

Violence had broken out in Panchkula after the Dera chief’s conviction, leaving 35 dead and hundreds injured.
