New Delhi, Sept 16: The Northern Zone head of Ryan International Group, Francis Thomas, has been sent to judicial custody till Monday in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old student. He will be produced before a Special Court on September 18. Notably, he was in police custody till now.

The Gurgaon Police had arrested Francis and Jeyus, the school’s human resource head, under relevant sections of the IPC and Juvenile Justice Act, after the body of Pradyuman Thakur was found in a washroom of the school last Friday with the throat slit.

Earlier in the day, the postmortem report of the seven-year-old student revealed that the cause of his death was “shock” and “haemorrhage”. The report also said that the child was killed by a single-edged weapon and that he was not assaulted sexually. “There were no physical injury marks on the body which established that he was not sexually assaulted,” senior forensic expert Deepak Mathur, who conducted the autopsy, was quoted as saying by IANS.

Earlier on Friday, the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar recommended a CBI probe into the murder.

Noteworthy, the police have arrested a school bus conductor, Ashok Kumar, in connection with the murder after he reportedly confessed to the crime. However, Ashok Kumar’s kin say that he had been framed. The same is being claimed by the parents of the child.

Meanwhile, Gurugram deputy commissioner, Vinay Pratap Singh hopes that the school would reopen on Monday and the administration may take over the management.
