Headley's interrogation reveals Shocking Details!

Woman named Samraz involved

It was revealed on Monday that terrorists David Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who are under FBI custody right now were in Pakistan when the Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists had attacked Mumbai on November 26 last year.

Headley and Rana are suspected to be directly involved with the planning of the 26/11 attacks that killed 180 people in Mumbai. According to a Home Ministry official, Canada has been approached by India to procure more info about Rana, who is a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin. Rana is reportedly the 'money bag' of the duo. "We are liasoning with Canada government," the official said.

The Indian Consulate in Chicago had facilitated Rana's entry into India, breaking a few rules in the process. Tahawwur Hussain Rana and a woman called Samraz Rana were both issued multiple entry visas under the discretion of the Consul General, which is a violation of a strict rule as the Home Ministry has to give clearance to persons born in Pakistan. Both Rana and the woman were born in the country. If any Pakistani citizen arrives in India, he or she has to register with the police if the stay is above 180 days. Both Rana and the woman were exempted from the same, and Rana was handed a business Visa valid for a whole year, while Samraz was given a tourist Visa valid for five years.

Also on Monday, 65-year-old Narendra Shah, who is the head of 'Prachar' which is an advertising agency in Mumbai, helped publish ads of David Headley's visa facilitating centre in various newspapers. According to Shah, Headley contacted him in 2007 who he accompanied with to his Tardeo office many times. "We provided our service in getting his visa agency's ads placed in various newspapers in Mumbai and Kochi soliciting people for jobs in the US," he said. "In 2007 and 2008, I went to Headley's office for about six times. There are reports that I know Rana which is not true. I only knew Headley whom I met several times. I submitted all documents pertaining to the ads of Headley's business and my statement was also recorded by police today (Monday)," Shah added.

In excess of 20 teams of the NIA have been formed to probe the Headley-Rana trail and flush out the terrorist cells in India. Headley and Rana had stayed at many five star hotels in Mumbai, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai, apart from staying with some private parties. A few teams of a prosecuting agency which was formed post 26/11 apart from teams of central security agencies have been recruited to gather information about the places the two terrorists had visited between 2006 and 2009.

Rahul Bhatt, the son of Mahesh Bhatt, who was in touch with Headley during his stay in Mumbai has been ordered by the NIA not to leave the city. Headley had befriended Rahul Bhatt at a gym in Mumbai, the terrorist also had visited the Bhatt household and had traveled with Rahul a few times. "It is a long and detailed probe covering all aspects of Headley who had visited India nine times in three years, and Rana, who had traveled across India extensively," an NIA official said.

Officials of the NIA have also landed in Kerala to probe Rana's activities in the city of Kochi where he had visited last year. Rana had stayed at a five star hotel in Kochi with a woman named Samraz Akhtar, (probably the same as Samraz Rana) between the 16th and 17th of November 2008, ten days before the Mumbai attacks. Rana had then flown to Pakistan, as the LeT terrorists unleashed bloodbath in Mumbai. NIA officials have obtained copies of passports and full details about Rana's other activities during his visit to Kochi.
