New Delhi, Apr 9: 2015 Indian Administrative Services (IAS) topper Tina Dabi tied the knot with rank 2 holder in the same examination, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan in the picturesque locale of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. The couple solemnised their relationship at Pahalgam Club on Saturday. While Dabi belongs to Delhi, Khan is from Jammu and Kashmir. Dabi, along with her parents and relatives, arrived in Pahalgam on Friday for the wedding ceremony. After the wedding, the couple drove to Devepora Mattan – Khan’s ancestral village in South Kashmir’s Anantnag.

Tina Dabi fell in love with Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan soon after they met each other for the first time at the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) office in North Block for a felicitation function on May 11, 2015. According to Tina, it was a love-at-first-sight. “We met in the morning and by evening Aamir was at my door. Uske liye pehli nazar mein pyaar ho gaya (For him, it was love at first sight). But I thank Aamir every day for his perseverance. He is a wonderful person,” she had said. The 2015 IAS topper also said that she was floored with Khan’s wit and charm. Although Dabi and Khan’s journey seems straight out of a fairy tale book, the two had their share of problems when they first announced their marriage. There were many who rebuked Dabi’s choice saying it was irrational and stupid. Religious fringe groups even called it a case of ‘love jihad’. Some Hindu outfits also wrote a letter to Dabi’s parents to stop such a thing from taking place. In response to such comments, Dabi had once said during a media interaction in 2016 that things as such make her disturbed but added that this was a small price for being in the public eye.
