New Delhi, Jan 12: The Railways e-ticket booking website IRCTC went down on Friday evening. The website has been made available for maintenance activities causing inconvenience to the passengers. The website is used to book electronic tickets.
The message which displayed on the IRCTC website read: “DUE TO MAINTENANCE ACTIVITY E-TICKETING SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE. PLEASE TRY LATER. FOR CANCELLATION/FILE TDR, PLEASE CALL AT CUSTOMER CARE NO. 011-39340000,011-23340000 OR MAIL AT firstname.lastname@example.org.” (UPDATE: IRCTC website is back now)
According to the initial reports, the IRCTC website is down for last 30 minutes. Twitterati has been sharing screenshots asking why the website is “again” down for maintenance work. There official information about the about the same on the official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Railways.
This is not the first time that IRCTC website has been closed down due to maintenance activities. Earlier on October 2 and September 16, 2017, IRCTC website went down with the same message displaying on the screen. Irked Twitterati over no prior information about the maintenance work flooded the social media slamming the Indian Railways for causing inconvenience to the passengers.
