Irony! Power goes off thrice at press conference while Piyush Goyal promises 24x7 electricity (Watch video)

New Delhi, May 20: In a major embarrassment for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), power cut occurred thrice when Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal was listing the achievements got by the government in last two years. Piyush Goyal was addressing a press conference to highlight how much works have been done by Power Ministry. When he started, it turned out a shameful episode.

Speaking at the press conference, Piyush Goyal reiterated that the Modi government is committed to provide 24×7 electricity to everyone by 2019. Ironically, while he was speaking about 24×7 electricity in ever nook and corner of the country, power went off three times in his own press conference. However Piyush Goyal made quick effort to handle the embarrassing situation saying that it reminded him how many regions of India were still not connected with electricity. “I think I mentioned last time that my wife tells me that power should go off once in every program that I hold. So that I can be sure that I have miles to go before I rest and sleep. I don’t know whether now they’ve made it a practice because of her guidance or it is actually gone,” said Goyal.
