New Delhi Nov 15: The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Wednesday released an audio clip calling for Las Vegas-type attacks across India on Kumbh Mela and Thrissur Pooram. In the terror tape, an Islamic State terror recruit can be heard calling for jihad in India in the coming days. The man in the audio has been identified as Abdul Rasheed, an engineering graduate and the leader of the ISIS module in Kasargod, threatening attacks during festivals where crowd throng in large numbers.
Abdul Rasheed, in the 10-minute audio clip released in Malayalam, quoted verses from the Quran and warned to carry out lone-wolf terror attack across India in the coming days. He called the ISIS followers to kill non-Muslims by poisoning water or driving trucks on crowds assimilating for festivals like Kumbh Mela and Thrissur Pooram.
“You use your intellect. Poison them in food. Use trucks. Drive over them at Thirssur Pooram or at Maha Kumbh Mela,” the male voice in the audio clip could be heard saying.
Making clear references to the to the Las Vegas shooting where several were killed at a music concert, Abdul Rashid said, “IS Mujahideen are doing it in several parts of the world. In Las Vegas, one of our supporters killed many people at a music concert. At least you should try to derail a train. Or use a knife.”
“…many of you have had higher education….use your intelligence to kill kafirs, kill them, poison their food, poison all of their water…Ram trucks into melas of Hindus, Thrissur Pooram, they have Maha Kumbh mela…Islamic State mujahideens keep doing it,” he said.
He further said that truck attacks, a way which was used to kill non-Muslims in the West, should be used to kill people.
“…Look what that guy in Las Vegas did. One of our supporters went to a rock concert, the palace of Satan, he finished them off…you could derail a train, let the kafirs die,” the man in the clip added.
“Why do you let them live in peace. Allah says, finish them, kill them… Democracy, Hinduism, Christianity has to to be wiped off, only Allah’s writ should run large,” he said.
“If you are not able to do that despite your prayers and efforts, then you should financially support Daulatul Islam and Islamic State,” Rasheed added.
Abdul Rasheed has been chargesheeted by National Investigative Agency (NIA) under IPC sections 120B r/w 125 and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) Sections 38, 39 and 40. The audio clip was circulated through instant chat application, Telegram Messenger from Afghanistan. The Kerala police have started its investigation into the matter.
