Srinagar, September 16: Pakistan forces violated ceasefire on Saturday night in Jammu and Kashmir’s Arnia sector. According to reports, at least three civilians were injured in this latest attack by Pakistan. With this attack, this is the second attack on a day and fourth consecutive day that Pakistan violated ceasefire.

Earlier today, a similar attack was launched at the same area along the Line of Control(LoC). As per ANI, the firing and heavy shelling by the Pakistani troops started at midnight of September 16 and continued till 6:45 a.m. And then again ceasefire was violated at around 10:30 pm.

Although no death has been reported yet related to Saturday’s incident, on Friday, i.e., September 15, one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s RS Pura sector. Initially injured, the jawan, identified as Captain Brijendra Bahadur Singh, later succumbed to his injuries, ANI reported. Several villagers were injured too in the attacks of September 15.

On September 14, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti  said she was “very disturbed” at the casualties resulting from border skirmishes. According to PTI, she said she was doing her best to ensure people do not have to suffer from ceasefire violations.
