Bandipora, April 5: Militants kidnapped a man and his son in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Hajin in Bandipora district early on Thursday morning, news agency ANI reported. While the man was later released, there are no reports if his son has also been released by the terrorists. The man has been admitted to a hospital for further treatment. No casualty has been reported so far in the incident.

Earlier on April 2, four Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists barged into a house at Hajin in Bandipora and attacked the family members of one Farooq Ahmad Parray. The terrorists opened fire and abducted Parray’s son-in-law Naseer Sheikh. Naseer was later found dead with torture marks and two bullet wounds on his body.

Three people were injured in the terrorist attack. “The terrorists used knives to cause grievous injuries to wife, daughter and brother of Farooq,” the police said.

“Efforts are on by the police to trace out the abducted person,” PTI quoted the police officer as saying. All the three injured were taken to a Srinagar hospital. The injured were identified as Rafeeqa, Neelofar and Hilal Ahmad Parrey. The condition of two of the family members is said to be critical. The police spokesman said that some LeT militants had killed Farooq Ahmad’s son last year. “Muzzafar Ahmad Parrey was killed ruthlessly by terrorists last summer. He was first decapitated and then the body was thrown into the river,” he added. An FIR was lodged in the case.
