Jammu and Kashmir: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists arrested, arms seized
After the BSF gunned down seven Pakistani rangers in retaliatory fire on Friday, two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists have been arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district today morning.
Srinagar, Oct 22: Two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists have been arrested in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and ammunition including one AK-47 and one pistol has been seized. The Pakistani rangers on Friday morning violated the ceasefire in Hira Nagar Sector of Jammu and Kashmir and fired at Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC). Giving a befitting reply to Pakistan for the ceasefire violation, the Indian Army launched a counterattack and neutralized 7 Pakistani rangers and one militant who were trying to infiltrate.
As per recent reports by PTI, a Pakistani spy was arrested from Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district for passing on vital information regarding deployment and movement of security forces to Pakistan. The report also mentioned that two Pakistani SIM cards and a map showing deployment of security forces was recovered from his possession.

“In a befitting reply to a sniper attack of Pakistani rangers at 9:35 am this morning in Hira Nagar Sector of Jammu, BSF launched an offensive. During intermittent firing of small arms and area weapon, one militant and 7 Pakistani rangers were shot dead,” said the BSF in an official statement. The forces have kept a tight vigil along the Line of Control following reports of possible infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan-based terrorists.(ALSO READ: BSF kills 7 Pakistani rangers,1 terrorist in retaliatory fire, gives befitting reply to Pakistan)
Constables Gurnam Singh, who is critically injured, was evacuated with the cover fire to Government Medical College, Jammu, a BSF official reported. “Today in Hira Nagar Sector, Pakistani rangers injured one BSF trooper. The jawan was identified as Constable Gurnam Singh. He was evacuated and his condition is critical,” the BSF stated.
“Pakistan Army violated the ceasefire on the LoC in Rajouri district by using automatics and small arms to target Indian positions. Firing by Pakistan troops started at 12.40 p.m. Our troops effectively retaliated,” said Defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta. However, Pakistan denied Indian Army’s claims and issued a statement in which General Asim Bajwa, Director General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the claims made by Indian Army of hitting or killing any Pakistani soldier/Rangers with firing at the LOC are completely false.
