Ahmedabad, Sept 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will receive Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Ahmedabad Airport on Wednesday. Ahead of Abe’s 2-day visit to India, the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar have been decked up with light and hoardings and banners of the Japan PM.
On Wednesday, after receiving Abe at the Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the 8-km long roadshow till the Sabarmati Ashram, along with his counterpart. This is for the first time that an Indian Prime Minister will be carrying out a roadshow with the Prime Minister of another country.
On the entire route of the the road show, a total of 28 small stages have been erected. Here, dancers from 28 different states, all dressed in their traditional attire, would showcase their performance when both leaders pass.
Later in the day, the duo will visit Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in Ahmedabad, following which, the two leaders will visit Dandi Kutir, the museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, at the Mahatma Mandir and then would have dinner at ‘Agashiye’ restaurant located near the mosque.
On Thursday, Abe and Modi will attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of 508-km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project, commonly referred to as the Bullet Train project. It is likely to have an estimated cost of Rs 1,10,000 crore. Later in the day, the duo will hold the 12th India-Japan annual summit in Ahmedabad on Thursday. This will be the fourth Annual Summit between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Abe.
