New Delhi, Apr 17: The Supreme Court ordered Jaypee group on Monday to deposit Rs 100 crore by May 10 to refund homebuyers who were not given their houses in time. This was after the group informed that Rs 100 crore was already paid to the buyers.

Apart from this, the group’s lawyers also sought permission from the court for foreign travel of two company directors  — Pankaj Gaur and Sunny Gaur. Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud permitted them to travel abroad but said that their properties will be attached if they don’t pay Rs 100 crore by May 10.

The Court said that the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP), will be at the liberty to finalise the resolution plan for Jaypee Infratech. The court also said that the final plan will be vetted by the Court.

The court asked amicus curiae Pawan Shree Agarwal to make a project-wise chart of homebuyers and make lists of buyers who want a house and those who want the refund. On March 21, 2,800 homebuyers and registered on the portal seeking the refund.
