Srinagar, September 17: A total of six persons, including women, have reportedly been injured in firing by Pakistan as it violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday evening. As per the latest reports, the firing stopped on Sunday. This was the second attack by Pakistan forces on Saturday. According to certain TV reports, a woman has lost her life in the intermittent firing by Pakistan Army.

The ANI reports mentioned that the firing and heavy shelling by the Pakistani troops started at midnight on Saturday, September 16 and continued till 6:45 a.m on Sunday.

On September 15, in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s RS Pura sector, one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed. The BSF jawan was identified as Captain Brijendra Bahadur Singh. According to reports, a few villagers were also injured in the firing.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on September 14, while speaking about the continuous disputes and firing at the border, said she was very disturbed at the casualties resulting from border skirmishes, reported news agency PTI. She further added that she was doing her best to ensure people do not have to suffer from ceasefire violations.
