Srinagar, Nov 13: Terrorists on Monday attacked a police party in Handwara town in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Reports say that the attack was carried out by the terrorists in Zachaldara region. Two terrorists have been killed in retaliatory firing by the police near Sultanpora bridge of Rajwar and one Jammu and Kashmir police personnel is injured. Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched in the area.

In the wake of increasing terrorists attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the state police will get bullet-proof vehicles and jackets. As many as 26 cops have been killed in the terror attacks in the Kashmir Valley this year, according to official police data.

Earlier on November 6, an Army soldier was martyred and three terrorists were killed after an encounter was broke between security forces and militants in Aglar Kandi, Rajpura of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. The martyred soldier was identified as Sham Sunder of 44 Rashtriya Rifles. During the encounter, a civilian identified as Tariq Ahmad had sustained a bullet injury.

On November 3, two security personnel and a terrorist were killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samboora village.
