Kalyan, Nov 29: The death of Aman Naeem Tandel (who was allegedly recruited by IS) came as shock  to his father Naeem Tandel after an anonymous call informed the family that their son died while fighting for the Islamic State.

Aman, along with other Kalyan mates, Areeb Majeed, Saheem Tanki and Fahad Sheikh, had left for Iraq in 2014. The four were admitted to ISIS through online recruitment. Of the four, Majeed returned in November 2014 and Tanki died in the 2015 suicide bombings in Syria.

According to a DNA report, Aman’s father Naeem, said, “hope it’s a fake call. It jolted us, just want our son to come back.” He also said that he and his family were yet to be approached by the government on this. After the call, Naeem informed his relatives and friends about the incident.

Earlier, Areeb Majeed’s family too had received a similar phone call regarding their son’s death but it turned out to be incorrect and keeping this in mind Naeem has some hope for his son’s return.  Aman’s friends and relatives believe he too will return like Areeb Majeed.
