New Delhi, April 16: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Shashil Namoshi broke down in front of media after party did not give him ticket for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018.  Addressing the media in Gulbarag city on Monday, Namoshi said, ‘I’ve been working for the party for a long time, was shocked to hear my name is not there, I don’t know what happened but it has hurt me.”

Earlier in the day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its second list of candidates for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018. The BJP has named 82 candidates in its second list for the forthcoming Karnataka polls. In its first list, the party had announced 72 candidates including chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa, who will fight from his Shikarpur constituency. So far the BJP has announced 154 candidates for the Karnataka polls. In the second list, the BJP has named Chandrakant Patil from Gulbarga Uttar, Ashok Naik from Shimoga Rural and HS Niranjankumar from Gundlupet among the 82 candidates.

A news agency ANI reported that supporters of BJP’s Shashil Namoshi staged protest. The supporters were seen burning tyres on the road and raising slogans against this move of government.

On Sunday, Congress party released its first list of candidate for Karnataka Assembly elections 2018. It declared 218 candidates in its first list for Karnataka polls, withholding names for remaining six seats of the 224-member house. Karnataka will go to polls on May 12. The results will be out on May 15.
