Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 4: A teacher from Kerala has come under the radar of the state government after he made several derogatory statements at a recent event. Dr Rajith Kumar, a teacher from a college in Kalady, said that “women who wear jeans or act like men give birth to transgender kids.” Not just that, Kumar even said that kids with autism are born to men and women who are rebels.
“When a woman degrades her womanhood, or a man degrades his manhood, the girl born to them will have the characteristics of a man. A child born to such a woman will be transgender,” Kumar said addressing a gathering recently. He added, “Good children are born to those men and women who live their lives as men and women. But, when a woman degrades her womanhood and a man degrades his manhood, the girl child born to the couple will have the character of a man. The child that she eventually gives birth to, will be born transgender.”
He even gave a bizarre explanation of why autistic kids are born. “The children born to rebel men and women have this new disease called autism,” he said.
The Kerala government has come down heavily on Kumar for his outrageous statements. Education Minister KK Shailaja on Sunday released a statement barring all government departments and agencies from inviting Kumar from taking part in their programmes.
