New Delhi, Apr 11: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday removed Kumar Vishwas from party’s Rajasthan in-charge post, said a report. Deepak Bajpai, who is the national treasurer of the AAP, will replace Kumar Vishwas. Vishwas was reportedly not taking an active interest in the party affairs in Rajasthan which will go to polls later this year.

Kumar Vishwas has been at odds with the AAP’s central leadership. Vishwas, following AAP’s rout in Delhi MCD elections, lashed out at the top brass, accusing them of distancing away from party volunteers and supporters on the ground. The differences had come to the fore when Vishwas refused to toe the party’s official line that “manipulation” of electronic voting machines was the prime reason behind its recent string of electoral defeats.

AAP’s Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan had dubbed Vishwas an “RSS-BJP agent” and accused him of “plotting a coup in AAP”, following which Vishwas had threatened to quit the party if no action was taken against the former. In a bid to reconcile Vishwas, Amanatullah was sacked from all posts within the party. Vishwas was subsequently elevated to the post of Rajasthan election-in-charge. Khan’s suspension was later revoked.
