New Delhi, December 8: With the Gujarat assembly elections dates inching closer, the political parties are leaving no stones unturned to woo the voters. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will once again be in Gujarat, landing in the state on the eve of the first-phase polls, to campaign in north and central Gujarat regions for the second phase of the state Assembly elections.
The Gandhi scion will be visiting Chota Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Kheda and Anand districts, regions of the second phase of the elections. Rahul Gandhi will be addressing a public meeting at APMC ground in Pavi Jetpur in Chhota Udepur district on Friday noon. He will also go to the Mogal Dham Mandir in Ranesar in Ahmedabad district.
Later in the afternoon, he will address a public gathering at the ground opposite Super Gas in Ranesar.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also start campaigning for the second phase of Gujarat Assembly polls. He will address four rallies – two in Ahmedabad, one in Banaskantha and one in Sabarkantha. PM will hold the rallies at Bhabar, Kalol, Vatva and Himatnagar for the remaining 93 seats.
The Uttar Pradesh government will submit a protection and preservation plan for the Taj Mahal in the Supreme Court on Friday after the apex court sought a report on the same. Hearing a plea of an environmentalist seeking the protection of the historical monument from the polluting gases and deforestation in and around the structure, the top court had ordered the demolition of a multi-level car parking being built near the Taj Mahal.
