New Delhi, Sep 29: The Indian Army on Thursday carried out surgical strikes on terrorist camps across the Line of Control (LoC) inflicting maximum casualties. Pakistan warned India that it will wage nuclear war after Indian Army conducted surgical strikes across LoC. Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) announced that Indian Army carried out counter-terrorist operation in Pakistan and neutralized terrorists and those who support them. Indian Army launched surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across LoC. Indian Army special forces were para-dropped to carry out the operation. Contrary to India’s claim, Pakistan denied any surgical strike by Indian Army but admitted to the death of two soldiers in cross-LoC firing by Indian troops. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif warned India that Pakistan’s “intent for peaceful neighbourhood should not be mistaken as our weakness”. The Pakistani military also said there were no surgical strikes by India, “instead there had been cross-border fire initiated and conducted by India which is existential phenomenon. Nawaz Sharif denounced what he called was an “unprovoked and naked aggression” by Indian forces.
Meanwhile, Indian Army evacuated villages in the Indian side of Punjab, situated along the border taking a precautionary measures if Pakistan violates ceasefire. It is reported that Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh directed Indian Army that all villages falling under the radius of 10 km with the Pakistani border should be evacuated. Border Security Force (BSF) canceled beating retreat ceremony at Wagah border scheduled for today. According to defence analysts, the evacuation was necessary as the bilateral friction between India and Pakistan has reached a whole new level, with Pakistan openly accusing India of attacking its soldiers.
Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Mumbai celebrated after India carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan. “Doodh maango kheer denge, Kashmir maango cheer denge” slogan was raised during the celebration outside BJP office.
