New Delhi: Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude hit Manipur’s capital city Imphal at around 4:05 AM on Monday. As per the reports, no damage to property and loss of lives have been reported so far.  This is the third earthquake in the north eastern state since one month.

A few days ago, a mild earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 had hit Manipur’s Churachandpur district. The quake hit at 6.45 a.m on June 15 at a depth of 10 km. The epicentre of the quake was Chamba region, bordering Jammu and Kashmir.

On June 01, an earthquake of 3.2 magnitud had e hit Senapati district in Manipur at around 5:48 pm. No damage to life or property was caused then too.

Earlier on May 06, Manipur had been hit by another earthquake of the magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale. Though the recuse operations were carried out but no loss of lives had been reported.

Since last year, the north eastern part of the country especially Manipur has been continuously facing the outrage of earthquakes.
