Mathura, Nov 14: A five-year-old girl was raped by her father’s friend, approximately 58 km away from the temple town of Mathura, at a residential colony on Monday. Reports say that the accused was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the crime.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the Superintendent of police Shravan Kumar Singh informed that the 49-year-old accused Rajendra had drinks at his friend’s house and raped the girl. Notably, the father of the three grown up children escapred as the minor shouted for help. The police have arrested him and registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s mother.
“On the complaint of the girl’s mother at Govind Nagar police station of Mathura, a case has been registred against the accused under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 5/6 of the POCSO Act,” the SP said.
As per the complaint by the girl’s mother, she was inside the house when the accused targeted her daughter. She also added that her husband was heavily drunk and was not in his senses.
Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the court on Tuesday and has been sent to jail.
The SP also told Hindustan Times that the accused has denied the allegations levelled against him and has claimed that he is being framed.
In a similar case, an 18-month-old girl was sexually assaulted allegedly by her father’s friend who was babysitting her at her house in Shahpur Jat in New Delhi on Monday. The 21-year-old accused is unmarried and has been arrested.
