New Delhi, April 21: Ahead of MCD Elections 2017, the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Friday warned the residents of Delhi saying that if the people of Delhi vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi civic polls, scheduled for April 23, they themselves will be responsible for diseases such as Dengue and Chikungunya. Kejriwal also said that the Delhi government will not be responsible for Dengue deaths if the BJP fails to maintain the municipal corporations in Delhi, if comes to power. Speaking to the media, Kejriwal said, “If you vote for BJP in the upcoming MCD Elections, and if your kids get Dengue or Chikungunya, don’t blame me for it; you yourself will be responsible for the deaths.”

The comment from the chief minister which has come as a surprise for the capital city which had voted for Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi assembly elections.

Arvind Kejriwal released the AAP’s manifesto for MCD Elections 2017 on Wednesday and promised that if the AAP comes to power in the upcoming MCD Elections 2017, it will transform the ‘unclean, unhealthy and unpleasant’ Delhi and will also make Delhi free of Dengue that the capital city faces every year. Promising that MCD will be transformed if AAP comes to power in MCD, Kejriwal said, “Delhi has suffered a great deal under BJP’s MCD rule. We won’t accept garbage, mosquitoes taking over our city.” The three municipal corporations in Delhi is currently run by the BJP.

Accusing BJP of not being able to clean the roads of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said that if the Aam Aadmi Party comes to power it will clean the municipal corporations of corruption which has been under the ruling of BJP for last 10 years. While launching the manifesto, Kejriwal also said that if Delhi votes for BJP again, the garbage will remain and Delhi will continue to suffer the annual mosquito menace. This has come as a surprise for many as being the Chief Minister of Delhi, he shouldn’t be playing politics with deaths.
