Mumbai, April 14: The Central Railways will carry out a mega block on Central, Harbour and Western lines in Mumbai on Sunday, April 15. In a bid to ease out the inconvenience caused to the people, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released a schedule of changes in the operation of local trains on these three lines.
Central Line Up/Down Train Status
The department, in a statement, said down services towards Karjat leaving from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CSMT) from 9:15 am to 1:53 pm will remain suspended on Sunday, during the block period. Down services towards Karjat leaving Thane from 10:48 am to 1:06 pm will also remain suspended. On the other hand, Up services from Ambernath to CSMT will remain suspended from 10:25 am to 1:25 pm.
Harbour Line Up/Down Train Status
Down Harbour line services to Panvel / Belapur / Vashi leaving from CSMT from 10:34 am to 3:39 pm and Up Harbour line services for CSMT leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 10:21 am to 3:41 pm will remain suspended. However, special local trains will run on CSMT – Kurla and Vashi – Panvel sections during the block period. Harbour Line passengers are also permitted to travel via Trans-Harbour / Main Line from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Western Line Up/Down Train Status
To carry out maintenance work of track, signalling and overhead equipment, five hours Jumbo block will be taken on Up and Down fast lines between Matunga Road and Mumbai Central (Local) stations during midnight of Saturday, April 14, 2018 and Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 00:00 am to 05:00 am. During the block, all Up fast line trains will run on Up slow line between Santacruz and Churchgate stations. Therefore, this Sunday, no day block is scheduled on Western Railway’s Suburban Section.
