New Delhi, June 19: South-West Monsoon is likely to further advance with favourable conditions in Chhatisgarh, Bihar and Odisha. Rains continue lashing the parts of Goa and Konkan on Sunday. Similar rains followed in the North Eastern States of Meghalaya, Assam and Tripura. A western disturbance was seen over Jammu and Kashmir with induced cyclonic circulations over Punjab and Northern Rajasthan. An extending turf from the Jammu and Kashmir to North East India may bring showers to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Favourable conditions for moderate rains were observed in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Northern Rajasthan. It may further bring respite from the scorching winds. Although, the chances of humidity cannot be ignored. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and adjoining areas of Bihar may see light to moderate rains, private weather forecaster Skymetweather reported. Other parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha too may receive scattered rainfall.
Vidarbha, Marathwada, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh may also receive moderate rainfall. An extending turf from Bihar to Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to bring more rains in Telangana and Rayalaseema region of the state. Another turf was seen extending from Goa to Kerala adding more momentum to the rains in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Indian Meteorological Department warned about thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hail very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. A thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds very likely at isolated places over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are also expected.
