Monsoon 2017: Mumbai witnesses highest tide; heavy rains to continue till next 48 hours
Mumbai witnessed high tide with a maximum height of 5.02 metres, at around 1.01 PM on Sunday. The city which has been receiving continuous rainfall since couple of days saw strong winds and thunderstorm last night.

The city which has been receiving continuous rainfall since couple of days saw strong winds and thunderstorm last night. After a delay in rainfall, the weather departments had predicted that post-June 23, Mumbai will receive good rainfall.
People woke up to proper rainfall on Sunday morning. As it is a Sunday, a holiday, many citizens went to the Marine drive to enjoy the monsoon. Around 1.01 pm, there was high tide and people enjoyed it to the fullest. Leading news ageny ANI has posted pictures of Mumbaikars enjoying the rain on its official Twitter handle.
The continuous rainfall has also crippled the normal life of Mumbaikars as there is a 6-hour-long mega block on the Central railway line. The Central Railway has also cancelled the Ambernath-Badlapur block which was scheduled today.
As per the reports, Traffic is crawling in many parts of the city. There is water-logging in places like Thane, Sion, Kurla, Andheri, Hindmata, and King’s Circle. According to Skymet Weather forecast, there will be moderate to heavy spells in Mumbai today, along with thunderstorm.
