Mumbai, Dec 8: When Mumbai Police smashed a slab in a brothel owner’s house, what they found was nothing less than horrifying. Days after a Boisar woman confessed to having murdered three people, the Mumbai Police found the skeletal remains of her husband who she had killed 13 years ago. 43-year-old Sarita Bharti was arrested on Monday for allegedly running a prostitution racket from her home. The police also rescued four women. Sarita confessed that she had murdered her husband in 2004.

Sarita told the police that her husband often assaulted her after coming home drunk and suspected her character. Kamlesh and Sarita stoned Sahdev to death after he caught them in a compromised position. She then buried the body and covered it with the tiles. The next morning, Sarita told her neighbours that Sahdev had deserted her. The police said that no missing complaint was filed.

“Sarita ran a brothel in Dandipada, Boisar (East). We had arrested her and one of her customers for prostitution under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) on Sunday. They were remanded in police custody till December 9, when they will be produced before the Palghar court,” assistant inspector Mansinh Patil of Boisar police was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The police are still looking for her paramour Kamlesh. “We are on the hunt for Kamlesh, who is absconding. We will also question her son Sandesh, 25, who is a tempo driver in Palghar,” the police said.

The police on Thursday dug up Sarita’s home compound and found her husband’s skeletal remains.
