Mumbai Local: Train Gets Stranded Between Sion and Matunga Stations on For Over 30 Minutes, Clueless Passengers Walk on Tracks
There were major delays witnessed on the Central Line of the Mumbai local when a slow train remained halted between two stations on Friday morning.
Mumbai, Feb 23: There were major delays witnessed on the Central Line of the Mumbai local when a slow train remained halted between two stations on Friday morning. Commuters were seen getting off the slow train, that originated from Panvel, and was stuck between Sion and Matunga for over 30 minutes.
Following this, other slow trains that were following also had to be halted, leading to a delay on the Central Line. Commuters reported that another train was halted for over 20 minutes before the Kurla station. Many took to Twitter to vent out their anger on delays going to over 40 minutes on the Central Line slow track. According to Zee Media reporter Nityanand Sharma who was also on board the train, there was no announcement as to what was the cause and status, due to which there was confusion and anger among commuters.
However, there were no delays reported on Western Line, even as there were slight delays on the Harbour Line. The fast locals were moving as per schedule.

A “technical issue” was being said to be the reason behind the slow local getting stuck between Sion and Matunga. The trains have now started moving as the issue was resolved. Some trains are expected to be cancelled to balance the schedule.
