Mumbai, April 7: The Central Railways will be conducting mega block on Sunday, April 8 on the three railway lines – Central, Harbour, and Western. The people of Mumbai will be facing inconvenience due to the mega block. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has released the schedule of changes in the operations of the local trains.
The department, in a statement, said down services towards Karjat leaving from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station (CSMT) from 9:15 am to 1:53 pm will remain suspended. Down services towards Karjat leaving Thane from 10:48 am to 1:06 pm will remain suspended. Up services from Ambernath to CSMT will also remain suspended from 10:25 am to 1:25 pm.
Down Harbour line services to Panvel / Belapur / Vashi leaving from CSMT from 10:34 am to 3:39 pm and Up Harbour line services for CSMT leaving Panvel / Belapur / Vashi from 10:21 am to 3:41 pm will remain suspended. However, special local trains will run on CSMT – Kurla and Vashi – Panvel sections during the block period. Harbour Line passengers are also permitted to travel via Trans-Harbour / Main Line from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.
A Jumbo block will be taken from 10.35 hours-15.35 hours on Up and Down fast lines between Santacruz and Mahim for maintenance of track, signaling and overhead equipment. During the block, all Up and Down fast line trains will run on Up and Down slow lines bet Santacruz and Mahim stations. Due to this block, some suburban services will remain canceled.
