Meerut, Nov 29: Parminder Singh who is the alleged mastermind in the Nabha jailbreak also seems to be conncted to the Punjab’s drug menace. During his initial interrogation, he has revealed that he has “deep links” with drug mafia in the state.
Singh had also confessed that he is a accused along with others in a drug case with smuggler Jagdish Bhola. The revelation portrays narco-terrorists operations in Punjab. He has also been accused of murdering a police officersm while helped an accuse escape jail in 2009.
Times of India quoted, Shamli SP Ajay Pal saying, “We interrogated him on Monday and he revealed that he is deeply involved the drug mafia in Punjab. What was the exact nature of his work is yet to be revealed and that can only come out after a deeper investigation, but it is clear that he had links with notorious drug kingpin Bhola. The notorious drug kingpin was acquitted by a Jalandhar court in a case of smuggling 1 kg heroin. Parminder Singh has been involved in several crimes in the past years. “He has been involved in several crimes. He has been booked under section 299/402 of the Arms Act in Shahkot police station in Jalanandhar district. In 2010, he was booked for firing upon police personnel in Patiala. He is also wanted for the murder of assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gurdev Singh of Punjab Police in 2013,” Times quoted the SP.
Talking about the earlier jailbreak executed by Singh, Pal said, “In 2009, he masterminded the escape of seasoned criminal Dilbag Bagga from police custody. A case has been registered against him for this in Kapoorthala district of Punjab. He is also wanted in several cases of vehicle theft. He has stolen at least six high-end vehicles from Ludhiana, Zirakpur and Mohali. Parminder Singh was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court at Kairana in Shamli district today. He has been booked under sections 25/27 of Arms Act and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (Forgery of valuable security, will, etc.), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (Using as genuine a forged document) of IPC.
Singh was arrested from Kairana on Sunday in Shamli district hours after the jailbreak in which six prisoners including Khalistani Liberation Force (KLF) Chief Harminder Singh Mintoo escaped. He also told police during interrogation that he was staying in a hideout in Dehradun. Their getaway vehicle was stopped at a police picket.
