Ahmedabad, Dec 8: Nandod (constituency number 148) and Dediapada (constituency number 149) Vidhan Sabha constituencies, that fall in the Narmada district will go to polls on December 9 in the first phase election to the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017. The polling to elections in Nandod and Dediapada would begin at 7 AM in various polling stations across the two assembly constituencies and continue until 5 PM. Both the Nandod and Dediapada assembly constituencies were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2012 Gujarat Assembly Elections. The election result of Nandod and Dediapada would be declared on December 18.

The current MLA of Nandod is BJP’s Tadvi Shabdasharan Bhailalbhai who had won against the runner-up Vasava Hareshbhai Jayantibhai from Congress in 2012 Gujarat polls. In the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, BJP has fielded Shabdsharnbhai Tadvi while Congress has fielded Premsinh D. Vasava.
In the 2012 assembly elections in Gujarat, BJP’s Motilal Puniabhai Vasava won with 56,471 votes. The runner-up was Amarsinh Ramsinh Vasava of the Congress party. This year, BJP has fielded Motibhai P.Vasava while Congress isn’t contesting any candidate from the Dediapada assembly constituency.
